Upon completing two years of music school at the University of Oregon, Mark sought out the best formal piano technology training - and found it at the NBSS (North Bennet Street School). After completing the most comprehensive level of piano technology classes - including tuning, repair, and rebuilding pianos, he received Certified Craftsman credentials.
After school, Mark returned to the Portland area and worked for over half a decade with Moe’s pianos. He then worked as the head technician for the Day Music Company while he continued to grow his private tuning clientele. After his time with Day Music Company, Mark received the opportunity to run the piano department at Lewis and Clark College. This included concert work and servicing a fleet of over 45 pianos. This included concert work and servicing a fleet of over forty five pianos. With all of that experience, he achieved the level of Master Craftsman.
Although not part of any "job", Mark saw a need in the Portland community and built a fleet of thirty five pianos to help give local students in low income circumstances, a new option for learning to play the piano.
